Vino 100

PDF Print E-mail

Vino 100 carries 100 different wines for $25 or less with complimentary wine tastings every day. It's a dream store for any person who just wants to enjoy wine and take a bottle home with them. Vino 100 caters to clientele across the board by offering knowledge of wine without the intimidation.

The store was created when partners, Cathy Blair and Carmen Roberts were shopping for a nice bottle of wine for dinner one night and couldn't decide where to go to get one.

"Wine stores are all too often intimidating, snobbish and expensive, or are designed as wine superstores where the quantity of wines is overwhelming and the quality of wines and the service provided is underwhelming," said Blair. "We wanted a place we would feel comfortable and shop for wine."

With all the wines to choose from, Vino 100 also offers other services for their guests, such as private wine tastings (on and off premise), special wine orders, catered events (on and off premise), wine recommendations, charitable contributions for special events and local same day delivery.
Furthermore, with each wine is shown with a user-friendly Vino Wine Barometer which describes the wine, what food it goes with and rates it on a scale for flavor and body.
Carmen has a background in food and beverage and Cathy has a marketing background, so they joined forces to create a store of their own where they would be known for both quality and quantity with a relaxed atmosphere.
Even though Blair has a marketing background, she looked to the Nevada Small Business Development Center (NSBDC) for help to better understand the market. They worked with our counselors who helped with their small business loan, finding a location, franchise agreements and reading over legal documents to see that everything was in order.
"The NSBDC is a necessary tool to use to be able to see all angles of your business. We tell everyone about it, because it is still somewhat unknown, but it's a great help, and best of all, it's free! It has been such a great experience and anyone who is planning to start a business should make sure to have the details of their business looked at by the NSBDC," said Roberts.
