The workshop will explain how maintaining good records helps farmers monitor the progress of business, prepare accurate financial statements and make sound business decisions. It also will show farmers how to prepare farm business balance sheets, projected income statements, annual farm income summaries, and Schedule F (Form 1040 -- Profit or Loss from Farming).
The workshop is presented by the Guam SBDC on behalf of the USDA Farm Service Agency. FSA loans are provided both to beginning farmers who can't qualify for conventional loans because they have insufficient financial resources, and to family-size farmers and ranchers who can't obtain commercial credit from a bank or other lenders.
FSA loans can be used to purchase land, livestock, equipment, feed, seed and supplies, as well as to construct buildings or make farm improvements.
The workshop will take place at the Guam SBDC, Room 148, in the Jesus and Eugenia Leon Guerrero School of Business and Public Administration Building.
