COC's On The Cutting Edge Of Business
College of the Canyons has done some expanding over the years, but their latest step will push them and their abilities to serve the community into the 21 century.
The Dr. Dianne G. Van Hook University Center recently celebrated it's grand opening, and on Thursday morning the Chancellors Business Council welcomed local business leaders to the 21st Century Business Symposium.
Guests were treated to a presentation by Jay Thomas, Chair of the Chancellors Business Council, and a complete tour of the facility.

We wanted to let you know about a proposed solution for NJ's economic and business woes and we want your feedback.In an effort to stimulate growth and retain jobs here in New Jersey, a concept has surfaced with a solution which could be effective in job creation, supporting entrepreneurial ventures and funding for cash-strapped and yet viable small businesses. Even more important, it is simplistic and could be duplicated in all states – fund federally-certified Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) and community banks through the economic development agency in each state.
Grant program awards funding to 20 local small businesses
The Redevelopment Agency of the city of Santa Clarita (Agency) awarded $5,000 grants to 20 Newhall Redevelopment Project Area small businesses at its Jan. 12 Meeting. Made possible through funding from the Agency's Small Business Grant program, the effort is part of the city's 21 Point Business Plan for Progress.
The Newhall Redevelopment Small Business Grant program (NRSBG) is designed to provide financial assistance to local small business owners to make enhancements to their business, as well as encourage business growth and sustainability in the Newhall Redevelopment Project Area.
