PSC, USF, Polk Works, SBDC offer free hybrid incubator
The Corporate College of Polk State College and three other entities in a joint venture launched a hybrid incubator program for startup and existing small businesses.
The incubator is free to businesspeople through a grant awarded to PSC Corporate College by Polk Works, a release said.
The program begins Feb. 16 on the PSC/University of South Florida joint campus in Lakeland. The program includes basic business courses created by the Small Business Development Center.

An outreach program of the University of New Hampshire Whittemore School of Business and Economics, the N.H. SBDC has launched the online course "Starting a Business in New Hampshire." It is one of more than 20 free online courses that are part of the center's e-Learning for Entrepreneurs courses.

Randy Doss, owner of A-1 Charter Services in Shreveport, started his business in 1989 with a used SporTran bus he bought for $2,200.
He has since built his company to include a fleet of 15 vehicles. He did it by working long hours, paying attention to every detail related to his company and implementing something he calls "po-boy marketing."
