Advisors Toolkit FAQ

Print E-mail

What documents do you have in the Document Exchange?

Currently, our collection contains documents such as: sample business plans, brochures, flyers and guides.

I am interested in sharing some materials. How can I submit these items to you?

In order to offer documents of the greatest clarity and resolution, a digital format is preferred. These can be transmitted as attachments to e-mail or on disc. Items may be in different applications, e.g., Word, PowerPoint and pdf format. Read more about how to contribute documents.

How can I fax documents to you?

Fax copies generally produce documentation of mediocre quality and can be questionable for inclusion. We accept paper copies but these must be unwrinkled, clean and of printer quality.

Can I print these documents?

Documents in the Document Exchange are in pdf format. They can be printed in their entirety or by individual pages.

SBDC Business Advisors' Toolkit:

What is the SBDC Business Advisors' Toolkit?

The SBDC Business Advisors' Toolkit is a working collection of counselor-developed tools: spreadsheets, diagnostic checklists, forms, brochures and articles for use by SBDC Business advisors either to give to clients, or to assist them in their consulting.

How does the toolkit work?

Currently, the toolkit is divided into 16 different subject categories. These will evolve over time as different types of tools/documents are submitted. We are also planning to add a search capability for the toolkit. This will allow for keyword searching of the cataloged tools.

How can I contribute tools or documents?

In order to offer tools/documents of the best resolution, a digital format is preferred. These can be sent to us as attachments to e-mail or sent on disc. Items may be in different formats, e.g., Word, PowerPoint and pdf. When submitting tools, please include the subject category in which it best fits (check the subject categories on the toolkit page). Read more about how to contribute documents.

I tried clicking on the 'Contribute' link at the bottom of the category pages, but got no response?

These links should open up a blank e-mail using whatever mail client (Outlook, Netscape Mail etc.) your browser is set to use. In Internet Explorer you can check this under Tools > Internet Options then choose the Programs tab. In Netscape, check under Edit > Preferences then choose Mail and Newsgroups. If you have difficulties with this just e-mail us your documents as attachments straight from your e-mail application.

Some of the documents are in pdf format. How can I download the Adobe Acrobat Reader?

Get the free Acrobat Reader from Adobe.
